I made the best decision for myself when I joined the Air Force, and I learned a lot along the way. in the beginning i was scared to leave because I was so focused on what everyone around me was saying. All my friends where telling me that I would hate it and that they just couldn't see me being in the military, along with some of my church leaders telling me that I was going to get raped, and others telling me that they cant stand the military. the first thing I learned is that they had no idea what they where talking about and I know me more than anyone,
I Loved basic training, yes it was the most stressful, scary experience i’v been through but that is because nothing great in your life comes easily. I have done so much in the past 8 months its insane. And I love it, i love being busy, and having a thousand things that need to get done, and I love helping people. I was dying when I was home, for 2 weeks, just laying around with no work to do.
Lessons learned:
- do your own thing, learn from others but don't be afraid to follow a different less traveled path
- The best experiences are when you get outside your comfort zone
- honesty is the best policy
- shoot for the stars, don't be afraid to make outrages goals for yourself, your get pretty far no matter what
- everything happens for a reason, even if it sucks!
